These are my test results for a Transformers Animated Quiz it was pretty fun. Just thought I'd add this for fun. Overall I'm quite happy with my results, but I never thought I'd be a Construticon! That just seems too weird for me, however everything else seems fine. The quiz can be found on Quiz Farm .com if anyone is interested.

Anywhere in the World

If there was anywhere place in the World I would like to visit, that we stuided to class, it would have to be Europe. Europe because of its vast history and it artwork. To be more specific I would like to visit would be Greece. The history of civilization and the birthplace of democracy, the culture and architecture that has survived thousands of years. The artwork in each ruin that still stands. Another place I would like to visit would be England. However that's just because I want to see Big Ben clocktower.

Reflection:

These last two weeks have been pretty ok I guess. We had to do AP test for English and Biology. That really sucked for me because I have those two classes at the end of the day right next to each other. I also have two projects, one for english and one for geography. The english project is due tuesday, while the geography project is due next monday. I turn 15 on Monday, other than that nothing new is going on.

Population Control

For this bi-weekly blog we have to write about how past societies have controled the size of their population. The only country I can think of right off the bat is China. China established a law saying that a couple can only have I belive 1 child. Unfourntaly this has also lead to people killing female children when they wanted a male child. I'm sure small countries like Japan have something similar to, but its not an official law.
This post is harder for me, cause I can't think of anything that wouldn't be humane and impeaching on the rights of people. But If I had to find a way to control the population growth. I would probally make it so that a couple could only have 2 children, anymore would be sent to an adoption agency. This is so that the couple don't have to worry about things like gender. Also 2 children is a nice average amount and could be supported on a nice salary. The adoption is for people who can't have children of their own. To carry it out I would have all couples fill out paper work for each child, that way the government knows how many children everyone has.

Reflection:

These past 2 weeks have been pretty tiring. For one thing the fine arts section of Anderson, which includes the orchestra, band, and choir, all went to Colorado for a music festival. The orchestra won best in class in the 5A catagorey. We also went skiing it was fun, but the worst part was the bus ride there. We probally spent more time in the bus than at the resort. We also got our report cards this weekend. Taks is next week, not looking forward to it though.

Darfur Crisis

For a while now, there has been a crisis in Darfur, Sudan. Perhaps crisis is too light a term, anyway the events in Darfur have led to over 400,000 deaths and 2.5 million displaced people because of janaweed groups. For this topic we're supposed to say who we think is the worst offender in this conflict. Personally I think there is more than one group to blame, but if I had to pick I'd say if would be the Chinese government. My reasoning is that they are only interested in the oil and have allowed the killings to continue when they have the power to stop it. They also supplied the Sudanese government with either the weapons or the funds to give to the Janaweed groups which led to the killings. They have also put in loopholes to keep this conflict going, even if they are against it.

Reflection:
These last 2 weeks have been pretty good so far. I got my grade for my mask project, an A. I got my current 6 weeks grade in Biology, which is a B. We also have a german family staying with us. A mother and her 7 year old son, the mother works as a singer and speaks fluent english. Her son is very energenic and likes to play with my siblings and the toys we have. They'll be living in a few days though. Oh and I'm going to Colorado Wednsday with the other fine arts students for a performance and skiing.

Global Warming

This topic I find is really hard to write about, mainly because I don't really know too much about global warming. All I really know is how global warming is caused. The only thing my family does that could help stop global warming is that we recycle our plastics. Our school however does a bit more. At school we recycle paper and some kids volenteer, I think, too collect the trash from around the school. Other than that I really don't know what we do to protect the enviroment.

Reflection:

These last two weeks have been pretty ok for the most part. I got my computer back today, which had been broken for the last couple of weeks. Spring break was ok, nothing really special happen other than going to the rodeo and starting and working on my mask. Near the end of the week however I became somewhat depressed, I had to make up a secretic semenar I missed about the Rwanda Genocide. One secratic semenar was online and on tuesday I just broke down crying about what had happen. I'm still a little upset about it but I've gotten better.

Something to say

We just got finished reading and learning about the genocide in Rwanda about 10 years ago. While reading about it I got this sense of anger and sadness at the same time. Anger at all the people who stood by and watched this happen, and Sadness at the senseless waste of human lives. I was in tears during a video we watched where they talked about the deaths of innocent people because of something that happen years before. I never understood why people hate each other, I was raised to be kind to all people. Why can people turn their heads and pretend not to hear the cries of children dying? How can people stand at the sidelines and watch a innocent person slaughtered.

We've become hypocrites, just hypocrites, we said "never again" yet it keeps happening again and again. I know there is evil in the heart of man, I just wish there wasn't. When I was little I used to believe everyone was good deep down. Now its reversed, everyone has a darkness deep down in the bottom of their heart. I just want some proof that there is goodness in humanity, that doesn't come after some disaster. I want to believe that humanity can be redeemed. No one's might ever read this, I don't care I just needed to get these thoughts out. Its seems that the only hope I can find in humanity is in fiction. I don't want to lose faith in the world, I just need one piece of evidence that there is goodness in the world, just one little piece of evidence. I am seriously crying right now, that's how strongly I feel about this subject. The killing of people, escpically children, sickens and enrages me, and I don't even like little kids.

That's all I have to say, if any one actually reads this besides Ms. Hollrah, see you Saturday night. Good bye.

Free topic: Anime

As I said last semester, my interest include Anime and music. I have a hard time explaining what I like about anime to people who don't watch. Its mostly the characters, I fine that good characters in any genre help pull the reader into the story. I also like seeing the reactions people get when I try to explain the plot of some animes. Heres an example, my favorite anime right now is "One Piece" which is about and pirate who is made of rubber after eating magic fruit, wants to be king of all pirates. Its actually a pretty good show and funny too.

I think the art style draws me in too. Each anime has its own art style and that helps with the mood sometimes. I also find the music relaxing or something that draws me in.

Reflection:
This past two weeks have been hard on me. One my computer stopped working for some reason, and I have to use my little sister's laptop while my computer gets fixed. Also for some reason I keep getting stressed at school, and I'm worried I'll just get too mad. So I'm looking forward to Spring Break for a little rest. We also got a mask project in Geography, I still haven't figured out what I want my mask to look like though.

Fall in love, or learn to love?

We just finished reading "Romeo & Juliet" in English last week. In the play Juliet's father forces her to marry Paris. The topic this week is kinda like this, in that we are talking about wheater to fall in love or learn to love.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one side I do believe that falling in love is better than forcing them to marry strangers. However you may never know if its truely love or not, I mean half of the married couples end up divorced, and they thought they were in love. But having to learn to love someone, doesn't always work either, especially if the two people haven't met each other or even know anything about each other. So I guess I believe that its better to fall in love than having to force yourself into love.

Reflection:

These last two weeks have been pretty good so far. We got a in english where we got to act out scenes from "Romeo & Juliet" with your own theme. My group's theme was Cowboys and Indians. We also had a four day weekend last week, which I needed for some rest. Other than the project I haven't had anything exciting happen.

Coraline

Eariler today I went to the movies with my little sister to see the new movie "Coraline" and I absolutly loved it. The movie is based on a Neil Gaiman story and directed by Henry Selick, who also directed "The Nightmare Before Christmas". This is the first stop-motion movie to be directed in 3D. Speaking of the 3D, it was amazing, unlike other 3D movies they don't just throw things at you, they make it seem real.

For those who don't know the story about "Coraline" its about a 11 year old girl, who bored with her normal life, finds a magical doorway in her house that leads to the "Other World". In the "Other World" everything is like her old world, only better. In the "Other World" she meets her "Other Mother" who looks just like her real mother, except she has big, black buttons for eyes, just like everyone else in the "Other World". Everything is going good, until the "Other Mother" says that Coraline can only stay in their world on one condtion, let her sow buttons in Coraline's eyes. From there on she must stop the "Other Mother".

The biggest name in this film would have to be Dakota Fanning as Coraline. For the movie Henry Selick created a new character, Wybourne "Wybie" Lovat, who was created so Coraline could have someone to talk to. This movie is not without its faults though, for one thing I don't think little kids should not see this, there are some scenes too scary for young children. Then there are some scenes that are slow and don't seem to have a point at all. Finally, and this is more of a personal problem really, they could have shown more of the neighbors and real world more often.

Overall this movie is my favorite of 2009, and the faults I stated can be forgiven too. Overall I would give it a 4 out of 5. Go see it if your a fan of Henry Selick too.

Music Group

Okay for the project I have to talk about my favorite music group or musician, which is really difficult for me because I really like music. My favorite group would have to be "They Might Be Giants" because they have such catchy songs. Or maybe "Breaking Benjamin". I really can't decide which I like better. I don't really have a favorite single artist though.

Reflection (Edit):
Nothing of interest has really happen in the last two weeks. Other then seeing a movie on Saturday. Oh and turning in a Geography Project on Famous Europeans, mine was Karl Marx. Maybe next time I'll have more interesting to talk about.

Technology & Winter Break

This week's topic is on technology, the ones I use anyway. I mostly use the computer for both school and entertainment. iPods to, along with television. I don't think they really change the way I lived too much, I've always watch tv, but before I found out about the internet I just played games on the computer. So the internet changed my life but that's about it. I personally think the invention that I would put in the same catogorey as fire would be the mp3, because it's changed the music industry as well as the newer generation.

Reflection:

My winter break was okay, I didn't do too much. In fact the only thing I can think of is that on christmas I got like 19 gifts. I was also in my church's christmas pagent.
