Fall in love, or learn to love?

We just finished reading "Romeo & Juliet" in English last week. In the play Juliet's father forces her to marry Paris. The topic this week is kinda like this, in that we are talking about wheater to fall in love or learn to love.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one side I do believe that falling in love is better than forcing them to marry strangers. However you may never know if its truely love or not, I mean half of the married couples end up divorced, and they thought they were in love. But having to learn to love someone, doesn't always work either, especially if the two people haven't met each other or even know anything about each other. So I guess I believe that its better to fall in love than having to force yourself into love.

Reflection:

These last two weeks have been pretty good so far. We got a in english where we got to act out scenes from "Romeo & Juliet" with your own theme. My group's theme was Cowboys and Indians. We also had a four day weekend last week, which I needed for some rest. Other than the project I haven't had anything exciting happen.

Coraline

Eariler today I went to the movies with my little sister to see the new movie "Coraline" and I absolutly loved it. The movie is based on a Neil Gaiman story and directed by Henry Selick, who also directed "The Nightmare Before Christmas". This is the first stop-motion movie to be directed in 3D. Speaking of the 3D, it was amazing, unlike other 3D movies they don't just throw things at you, they make it seem real.

For those who don't know the story about "Coraline" its about a 11 year old girl, who bored with her normal life, finds a magical doorway in her house that leads to the "Other World". In the "Other World" everything is like her old world, only better. In the "Other World" she meets her "Other Mother" who looks just like her real mother, except she has big, black buttons for eyes, just like everyone else in the "Other World". Everything is going good, until the "Other Mother" says that Coraline can only stay in their world on one condtion, let her sow buttons in Coraline's eyes. From there on she must stop the "Other Mother".

The biggest name in this film would have to be Dakota Fanning as Coraline. For the movie Henry Selick created a new character, Wybourne "Wybie" Lovat, who was created so Coraline could have someone to talk to. This movie is not without its faults though, for one thing I don't think little kids should not see this, there are some scenes too scary for young children. Then there are some scenes that are slow and don't seem to have a point at all. Finally, and this is more of a personal problem really, they could have shown more of the neighbors and real world more often.

Overall this movie is my favorite of 2009, and the faults I stated can be forgiven too. Overall I would give it a 4 out of 5. Go see it if your a fan of Henry Selick too.

Music Group

Okay for the project I have to talk about my favorite music group or musician, which is really difficult for me because I really like music. My favorite group would have to be "They Might Be Giants" because they have such catchy songs. Or maybe "Breaking Benjamin". I really can't decide which I like better. I don't really have a favorite single artist though.

Reflection (Edit):
Nothing of interest has really happen in the last two weeks. Other then seeing a movie on Saturday. Oh and turning in a Geography Project on Famous Europeans, mine was Karl Marx. Maybe next time I'll have more interesting to talk about.
